Back in 1995, Tripping Daisy were all over the charts with their huge hits, “I Got a Girl” and “Piranha”. Now we can relive the glory of their album, ‘I Am an Electric Firecracker’ as a limited edition double vinyl.
The band statement reads:
Coming July 4! Special double vinyl pressing of ‘I Am An Electric Firecracker’. Red and white opaque 140 gram vinyl, 45 RPM, vertical gatefold. Limited quantities available so place your preorders now!
The quirky primarily post-grunge album wound up selling 300,000-400,000 copies. Their second album, produced by Ted Niceley, found Tim DeLaughter, Wes Berggren, Mark Pirro, and Bryan Wakeland in fine form as they were able to provide a solid balance of hard rock power, fine melodic hooks, quirkiness, and relatability.
It was the second of four albums the band issued in the 1990s and 2000. Wes Berggren died in 1999 which resulted in the group’s breakup. Tripping Daisy performed the album on tour last year – they hadn’t played together in 26 years prior to the shows last year. This year, they’re set to play the State Fair of Texas in October.
