When we last heard from The Rolling Stones, they were playing yet another sold‑out tour — this time behind one of their most beloved recent albums, Hackney Diamonds, released in 2023. But recently, people in England began noticing mysterious posters advertising a band called The Cockroaches. It turns out the posters were promoting a new Rolling Stones track, “Rough and Twisted,” issued as a limited‑edition 7‑inch vinyl under the Cockroaches alias in anticipation of Record Store Day on April 18th.

Stones fans spent the weekend scrambling to secure a copy, and now that the single is sold out — and unavailable on streaming platforms — it has hit eBay, where copies are going for more than $500, with some sales approaching $1,000. The frenzy underscores the band’s enduring legacy, six decades into their career, as one of the most iconic rock acts in history.

When Hackney Diamonds arrived in 2023, the group said they had written a large batch of additional songs, some completed and others still in progress. New reports now indicate that a fresh Stones album is slated for July. It remains unclear whether “Rough and Twisted,” which is reportedly included on the upcoming record, will be released on streaming services beforehand.
