This past Friday June 26th, The Pretty Reckless released ‘Dear God’, their first album since 2022’s ‘Other Worlds’, and their fifth studio album overall.  The Pretty Reckless have been one of the most consistently successful rock bands for the past 15 years, and on their new album, they continue to provide powerful grungy rock while also taking some detours into other rock subgenres like folk-rock, a bit of psych, 70s rock, and pop/rock. The singles “For I Am Death” and “When I Wake Up” along with the promo singles, “Dear God” and “Love Me” were all previews for the new long player.

Singer Taylor Momsen and multi-instrumentalist Ben Phillips wrote all the songs.  Phillips does double duty on bass as well and co-produced the album with Jonathan Wyman.  Mark Damon also playing bass means that several songs consist of two basses.  Drummer Jamie Perkins rounds out the foursome.

“For I Am Death” hit #1 on the Mainstream Rock chart late last year and “When I Wake Up” reached #4.  Look for the album to do well since the band is still going strong with public appearances, live performances, and active social media accounts. Their Dear God World Tour will pick up in North Carolina in early July and continue sporadically through the remainder of the year.
