Pearl Jam Announce First Live Show Date Despite No Confirmed Drummer

Pearl Jam may or not have a new drummer.   As of this week, they still have not confirmed any replacements for the recently departed Matt Cameron, their drummer for the last 25 years.  Yet today, they have announced that they are continuing their annual Ohana festival which will take place September 25, 26, and 27th in Dana Point, California.

On the 25th, Eddie Vedder will perform as the headliner solo plus ‘friends’ and Pearl Jam will be the lead headliner on the 27th.  Other standout acts that will be supporting include Pixies, Fontaines DC, Billy Idol – just recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Alabama Shakes, Jon Batiste, Sugar, and Bad Religion.

Perhaps revealing a September 27th date means that that will serve as a deadline to find at least a temporary drummer or perhaps it means Pearl Jam are currently securing a drummer who may be permanent.  There are still questions in the air to solve before PJ can put on a live show.  It’s unlikely that they will go drummer-less and just perform acoustically so we should be in for some big news between now and September.
