Kurt Cobain’s Martin D-18E acoustic guitar, used for the famous Nirvana MTV Unplugged in New York show in 1993, comes with the proclamation that it is the world’s most expensive guitar after it was auctioned off in 2020 for six million dollars (4.51 million pounds).  For Nirvana fans, the stroke of generosity of Peter Freedman, the founder of a microphone company, is very welcome.  He’s donated the guitar to The Royal College of Music in London, England.

Now that they have the guitar, the college plans to set it off on a tour of exhibition spaces in 2026 for Nirvana fans to view.  The traveling exhibition dates and places to see the guitar have not been revealed yet.   Recently, it was displayed at the RCM Museum for a ‘Kurt Cobain Unplugged’ exhibition where it drew 15,000 visitors.
