Back in September, the Foo Fighters officially welcomed drummer Ilan Rubin to their lineup following the unexpected departure of Josh Freese earlier this year. Rubin, 37, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails and Paramore, made his debut with the band during two intimate performances in California: first at the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo on September 13, followed by a second show at The Observatory in Santa Ana on September 15. Rubin is also a songwriter and producer.
It was a funny moment back on September 17th, The Foos famous sense of humor was back for a special fan message with each band member explaining how authentic the Foo Fighters are in a world where artificial intelligence is the latest craze. But they themselves look like images altered by AI. They then conclude the video showing Ilan Rubin with a massive drum set and several arms to play them all. They’re hoping this comical endeavor makes up for some fans’ disappointment in seeing Josh Freese released from his duties earlier this year on July 7th.
