British Alt. Rock Band Basement’s First New Album in 8 Years to Be Released in May

Basement may not play straight grunge but they are post-grunge adjacent so we at The Rock Lair are excited the British alt. rock/emo band have a new album coming out on May 8 via Run For Cover Records. ‘WIRED’ was first mentioned by Basement back in March and since then, they’ve issued the songs, “WIRED”, “Broken By Design”, and “The Way I Feel”.  

Andre Fisher provided some background for the new songs in the press release.  “‘WIRED’ is about how sometimes it feels that we are set up to feel and behave in certain ways beyond our control.  That no matter how hard you try to hide it, eventually it will come out – either by choice or by force.” 

“Broken By Design”, according to Fisher is “about giving something your absolute best and realising it’s destined to fail. Getting to the other side of the situation, looking back and deciding to do everything differently and feeling grateful for the opportunity to grow. We’ve all done a lot of work on getting better at talking to each other as friends and as band mates.”

Music videos have also been released for all three new songs.
