Canadian alternative rock band Three Days Grace has returned to the upper ranks of the Billboard Albums chart with their latest release, Alienation, marking a significant rebound from their previous outing. The album debuted in the top 40 in the U.S., a notable improvement from 2022’s Explosions, which peaked at No. 102.
A major factor in the band’s renewed momentum is the return of original frontman Adam Gontier, who joins current vocalist Matt Walst on the 2025 release. The dual-vocalist approach has added a new dynamic to the group’s sound, though the core style remains consistent with their post-grunge and hard rock roots. Barry Stock is on guitars, Brad Walst on bass, and Neil Sanderson on drums.
In Canada, Alienation reached No. 19 on the national albums chart, outperforming Explosions, which landed at No. 30. The album’s success has been bolstered by two hit singles: “Mayday,” released in November 2024, and “Apologies,” both of which topped the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart and the Canadian Rock Singles chart. They now have 19 #1 singles on the U.S. Mainstream Rock Chart.
While Three Days Grace has not had a top ten album since 2012, they continue to draw strong crowds on the road. The band is currently touring alongside Breaking Benjamin and Return to Dust, with dates scheduled into 2026.
The resurgence of Alienation signals a promising new chapter for Three Days Grace, blending legacy appeal with fresh energy as they navigate their evolving lineup and sound.
