The Beatles are issuing some new outtakes mixed in with old outtakes on the new 'Anthology 4' disc. They also reissued the entirety of The Beatles Anthology, sets 1, 2, and 3, which originally was issued back in 1995 and 1996 one 2-CD set at a time. Of all the tracks from all 4 volumes, there are only 13 new, unheard tracks. This is all supposed to synch up with the video version of The Beatles Anthology, considered to be the best Beatle documentary ever. It was the first documentary to feature active input from the former Beatles Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. John Lennon had already passed when the documentary was aired on television in the 1990s.
The documentary can be enjoyed by casual or hardcore Beatle fans, but the audio, which consists of all outtakes along with the three 1990s 'reunion' tracks, "Free As a Bird", "Real Love", and "Now and Then", is probably best suited to hardcore fans only. Some casual fans will get a kick out of hearing their favorite songs in alternate or live renditions. Released on all mediums and separately, 'Anthology 4' has all the new tracks and is what most hardcore fans were waiting for. The documentary will stream on Disney+, November, 26.
