To celebrate Eddie Vedder’s 61st birthday today, December 23rd, we acknowledge Pearl Jam once again posting about their Spotify '12 Days of Pearl Jam' playlist—a reminder that the band has been releasing Christmas songs and special holiday singles for decades. They remain one of the few artists in any genre to gift fans annual Christmas releases for such an extended period.

Through the Ten Club, Pearl Jam issued free 7‑inch vinyl singles every December beginning in 1991 with the holiday original “Let Me Sleep (It’s Christmas Time)” and concluding in 2018 with rare covers of Soundgarden’s “Hunted Down” and Chris Cornell’s “Missing.”

Several tracks on the current 12 Days of Pearl Jam playlist are originals written by the band. Alongside the fan‑favorite “Let Me Sleep,” there’s “Angel,” a rare 1990s collaboration between Eddie Vedder and drummer Dave Abbruzzese, as well as Vedder‑penned songs like “Don’t Believe in Christmas,” “Santa God,” and “Santa Cruz.”

The playlist also features a handful of covers: Mike McCready’s playful take on “Jingle Bells,” the band’s emotional rendition of Pete Townshend’s “Love Reign O’er Me,” their politically charged cover of John Lennon’s “Gimme Some Truth,” and a warm, seasonal version of Stevie Wonder’s “Someday at Christmas.” Altogether, the collection offers 12 songs for the 12 days.
