Happy New Year From The Rock Lair!

The Rock Lair wants to wish you all a Happy New Year! We started two months ago on Halloween, 2025, and to recap, it's been a blast so far. We attempted to cover rock that leans to grunge because there are lots of websites covering punk, heavy metal, indie rock, and several other subgenres but seemingly less for grunge and almost nothing for post-grunge.
It's been a treat to relive some of the glory days of rock and to discover items that may have been missed originally, but we can live in 2026 too and unveil news and stories about what acts from the past and present are doing right now. Yes, often we'll go on nostalgia trips but why not try to give some attention and support to rock bands now trying their best to survive competing against a mainstream that is loaded with music from other genres.
Without even small amounts of record sales to earn from, rock musicians have to get out on the road and bust their butts trying to survive because they want to share something of themselves with us. It's not about being greedy, an ego trip, being incredibly rich or selling out when a band goes through the promotional rigmarole. It's more necessary than ever to be financially stable enough to continue. So we'll be jumping around rock history primarily from the 1980s until today and we'll sneak into the 1960s and 1970s once in a while as well.
I want to thank everyone that's been a part of this so far and we hope to get more people involved in the rock conversation as 2026 gets under way. Let's toast to a musically rich 2026!
